STORY OF BEN

‘When I tell people I wear orthopaedic shoes, they simply don’t believe me. My shoes look as if they were bought in a high-street store. I’m so happy with my black Looxz shoes, I even ordered a second pair, only in cognac brown!’

‘WHEN PEOPLE HEAR I WEAR ORTHOPAEDIC SHOES, THEY SIMPLY DON’T BELIEVE ME’

‘I’ve been wearing orthopaedic shoes for years,’ Ben Rijksen from Vlaardingen in the Netherlands explains. ‘My whole life, I’ve worn size 11. I also have wide feet, so was never able to wear normal shoes. In 2017 I was diagnosed with diabetes and I had to have several toes amputated. After that, I needed orthopaedic shoes, since normal ones no longer fit.’

JUST LIKE NORMAL SHOES

‘I have always been a man about town, so I wanted shoes that look good too. At Penders Voetzorg they took my measurements and then I chose the style I wanted. Zippers, laces, Velcro – you name it – anything is possible. When I tell my friends I wear orthopaedic shoes, they simply don’t believe me. My shoes look as if they were bought in a high-street store. In fact, I’m so happy with my black Looxz shoes, I even ordered a second pair, only in cognac brown!’
