ORTHOPAEDIC SHOES AS A KIDNEY PATIENT

Because my kidneys no longer work properly, I suffer from arterial calcification. You first notice it in your legs. Out of necessity, I had to have 4 toes on my left foot amputated and I’ve also lost my lower right leg, so I now wear a prosthesis. My orthopaedic shoes come with a special fitting for amputees, so that my feet still look the same length.

SPECIFIC SEARCH QUERY
My rehabilitation consultant suggested I look specifically for raised orthopaedic shoes with a Velcro fastening. Via the Looxz website, by making a selection on height of shoe and the type of fastening, I soon found they had a large range of these types of shoes. Now I can always find the model I want quickly and easily.

SEVERAL PAIRS OF LOOXZ SHOES

I’ve been wearing orthopaedic shoes for the last 4 to 5 years. The last two pairs have been from Looxz and they suit me fine! Both pairs come in a standard colour, but with a modern design, making the shoes really stylish. I have a nice sandy-coloured pair which I wear in the summer and a pair of black ones for the autumn and winter. I find the black shoes especially easy to match with clothes.

IMPROVED MOBILITY

Thanks to physiotherapy and my Looxz shoes, my mobility has improved enormously. I no longer need crutches or a walker. I’ve even had a new pair of soles with a higher user level fixed under my shoes! I’m delighted with what my orthopaedic shoes have helped me achieve already.
